Dr. Uchenna, Partner, Tetralex, is an Attorney admitted to the Nigerian Bar. He holds an LL.B (Hons.) degree from the University of Nigeria, an LL.M from the University of Ibadan, with a specialization in cybersecurity and information technology law, and a Ph.D. in Law from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria, with a specialization in telecommunications law.

He is the author of Cybersecurity Law and Regulation (2012), International Telecommunications Law and Policy (2018), and Telecommunications Law and Regulation in Nigeria (2018), in addition to over 70 peer-reviewed papers on cybersecurity, data protection, telecommunications regulation, and other aspects of the law.

His articles have appeared in Journal of African Law; Computer Law & Security Review; Commonwealth Law Bulletin; Computer Law Review International; Computer and Telecommunications Law Review; International Data Privacy Law; Journal of World Investment & Trade; Tilburg Law Review; Masaryk University Journal of Law and Technology; Environmental Policy and Law; Latin American Journal of Trade Policy; International Journal of Criminal Justice; Defence Against Terrorism Review; and the OPEC Energy Review, amongst others.

He is a recipient of a national award (the Dangote Prize) for the best overall essay in the fourth edition of the Nigerian Ships & Ports National Essay Competition.

Uchenna has a strong research background on cybersecurity and telecommunications law and regulation in Africa. He is a Fellow of the African Center for Cyber Law and Cybercrime Prevention (ACCP) at the United Nations African Institute for the Prevention of Crime in Kampala, Uganda, and has worked as an expert for the Council of Europe, the Commonwealth, the Dutch Government and the Government of Nigeria’s Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption.

In 2016, the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) appointed him as the resource person/professor of cybersecurity law and policy for the 2016 African Cybersecurity Governance Institute in Dakar, Senegal. He has acted as an external Ph.D. assessor and also acts as a peer reviewer for several top international journals. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Law at the American University of Nigeria.
